Our site was a pull straight in site facing the river with the constant sounds of water rushing by. It was roomy enough for our 37′ rig with four slides and the toad parked behind it. We had the grassy park area on one side of us with large tree’s – which was nice. That area has a small beach. The park was pretty good sized and quite full, but was quiet at night. We had a picnic table but no fire ring.

Check in was easy and the staff is friendly and helpful. This place is likely quite beautiful in the spring and early summer when the river is running with snow melt, and the grass and vegetation on the mountains is green. Buntzen Lake. Anmore Camp & RV Park is located at the entrance of Buntzen Lake a 45 minute drive east of Vanouver and a nature lover’s n Lake is flanked by Eagle Ridge/Mountain (1, m) to the east and Buntzen Ridge ( m) to the west.

We had originally booked a seven night stay, but unexpected truck repairs while in the Salt Lake City area forced a delay of several nights. Kudos to the manager for being flexible in accommodating our change in plans — excellent service and people skills! Management and staff were friendly and helpful during our stay. The park was busy with holiday travelers, but generally quiet and peaceful during our stay. We watched the nearby Fourth of July fireworks displays right from the campground.

You both have done such a great job making it much nicer for your guests. Wishing you and your family good health. If I had to choose the nicest resort we’ve ever been to, this one would be it – without question. We booked slightly ahead of the Labour Day weekend and expected to take what we could get, based on the short notice.

Besides being wide and spacious, we were an end site – so the grassy area with picnic table that was also part of our site was like having our own personal park! Walking paths, Dragon Lake just metres from our doorstep, and a secure gated beautifully kept resort.

Some would be considered “destinations”, while others are merely stopovers we’ve encountered en route. Our preferences are for places where the sites are spacious, the views interesting, the facilities clean and adequate, with friendly and professional management. We’re not particularly keen on urban locations, train or highway noise, or video arcades.

Hookups are certainly a convenience, but some more primitive locations can be superb without them. Thus in the lists which follow, you’ll find RV parks that fit into virtually all categories.

It means I don’t have to worry about things like taking a shower and washing the dinner dishes in the same evening because of the grey tank capacity. That means I can purchase local specialty foods and have a grand time cooking in the kitchen. With full hookup the Airstream truly is a house. It’s always a home. There isn’t a tree or shrub to be found and the closest thing to wildlife is the dog in the Class A 10 feet to the right.

The goal of these “parks” is to cram as many RV’s as possible onto an expanse of asphalt next to a major highway near a major city and then throw in a laundry and club house so it can be called a resort.
